HOW FACING YOUR FEARS CAN CHANGE EVERYTHING

There are only two outcomes in anything you do in life, you will either have a great time or you will learn something and move on.

I was terrified. Sitting there, so scared of getting into the water I decided to take my fears head on. My three least favourite things in the world are snakes, deep water and sharks.

Despite feeling like I was going to pass out, throw up or die, I kept calm. I got into my wetsuit and got into the deep water below me. I followed the dive instructor’s commands and started descending into the depths of the unknown.

It was hard to breathe, I've never felt such panic before in my life and then something undexpected happened. I let go and just allowed myself to be there - no judgement, just being in the moment embracing the unknown of the experience.

And guess what? I didn’t die and instead had one the most amazing experiences of my life.

I got to experience the incredible beauty of the Great Barrier Reef, saw amazing sea life and had the fortune of swimming just 10 feet away from a magnificently beautiful shark in his natural habitat.

As I sit here thinking about that amazing day I feel so much gratitude and truly know that it is in the moments beyond our fears that our best life awaits.⁣

I now know with unshakable belief that the reality and beauty of this experience called life is so much more than the fear we create in our minds.

So whatever it is you want to do, whatever it is you’re called to do...DO IT. Just go for it. You have nothing to lose and everything to gain.

Becuase no matter what you do in life, there are only two outcomes:

You will either have a great time or you will learn something and move on with you life.

The weight of regret and inaction towards what your heart is calling you to do is so much heavier than overcoming the fear that holds you back. So go out there and live. Experience new things, do hard and scary things, and follow your passion. There are magnificent gifts waiting for you on the other side of fear.
